   Oral Roberts, what can I say...well, he's dead for one thing (December 2009) and for another he's got to be the greatest scam artist who ever lived, check out the details of his famous 1987 claim that he had to raise 8 Million Bucks or God was going to strike him down dead as a wedge...Time Magazine Article (2007). The Worst Part Is: HE ACTUALLY GOT THE MONEY!

Spirit Orbs - The Real Story...

Did you ever take a picture and later on notice glowing "orbs" throughout your photo, these orbs are caused by the reflection of natural light or camera flash on dust particles, raindrops, and other airborne contaminants, there is absolutely NOTHING paranormal or supernatural about them. They are referred to all over the internet as "spirit" or "ghost" orbs and assumed to be the energy signature manifested by ghosts/spirits/demons/etc...There are millions of these pics all over the web, don't be fooled! The above examples were "borrowed" from GhostStudy.Com, rain orbs in the top pic, dust orbs on the bottom. They look pretty freaky if you don't know what they are, but relax, they are a perfectly normal trick of the light when reflected through a camera aperture.

Strange Note: My wife once captured three orbs on camera during a ghost hunting trip to Blackwell, Missouri that absolutely defied explanation, but I lost the CD with the photo on it (I'm not kidding)...Smooth Move Ex-Lax! So keep in mind that maybe there is something to this phenomenon, just keep an open mind.

My Thoughts On Bigfoot...

   No paranormal blog is complete without a post about Bigfoot, so let me get it over with now so we can move on to bigger, better things...

   Personally, I'm somewhat divided on the whole Bigfoot deal. I don't see any reason why (scientifically or otherwise) that Bigfoot couldn't exist but that has absolutely no bearing on whether or not he really does since it's virtually impossible to disprove a negative (I don't remember who first noticed that, possibly Richard Dawkins or The Amazing Randi - probably neither one of them, but someone else entirely).

   Just because you can't find it or evidence of it's existence, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist" (Note: you can also apply this to God, ghosts, aliens or whatever else suits your fancy) keeping in mind that the converse is also just as true. It is my belief that where there is a total lack of empirical evidence, the agnostic answer is the only intelligent one, "Hell if I Know!"

The Paranormal - The Truth?

   So much information exists on the web about ghosts, hauntings, and the paranormal/supernatural in general, that an uninformed reader has almost no chance of being able to decipher the whole mess in any sort of logical way, So...that being said, it is my intent to provide the best possible information from sources on both sides of the paranormal field, "the skeptics" and "the true believers" and to let the reader decide for themselves. I myself am a believer in certain facets of the paranormal and a complete skeptic when it comes to others. This is due largely to research and personal experience.

   Keep in mind that images and videos (including those on this site) can be doctored quite easily nowadays, factual accounts can, in reality be wholly fictional, and people often see what they want to see or believe they see. There are also those who suffer from paranoia and other delusional disorders and see things that aren't there as a matter of daily occurence.

   This place really warrants an entire blog in and of itself, but here's my version of DIA in a nutshell: It opened it's doors in 1995 and has since been the target of every conceivable form of conspiracy theory...from hidden underground bases, to the Freemasons, New World Order, 9-11, etc. I'm not now, nor have I ever been a paranoid person, but some of this stuff will really make you wonder! WHAT IN THE HELL WERE THEY THINKING??? None of this stuff qualifies (even remotely) as stuff I want to see before boarding an aircraft!

   This Article: "Mysterious Occult Symbolism At Denver International Airport" by Mihalis Moros on Just GetThere.US pretty much sums up most of the major strangeness, particularly the doomsday artwork, and anything not covered in the Moros Article is covered in "The Denver Airport Conspiracy" by Brian Dunning on Skeptoid. Heaven's Gate Cult Alive And Well...

Always a great lead-off subject for any site that deals with strange behavior...The Heaven's Gate Cult is STILL up and running despite the 1997 mass-suicide deaths of founder, Marshall Applewhite and 39 other cult members who consumed a phenobarbital, pudding (what the hell was the pudding for, I wonder?), and Vodka mixture in a highly unsuccessful (I think) attempt to depart earth and board a spaceship concealed in the tail of the Hale-Bopp Comet...And, no, I'm not making any of this up! Read it for yourself here on the Wikipedia or view the Heaven's Gate homepage (including explanation of the mass-suicide).
